Clerkenwell Design Week

Last week some of the Hub team head over to Farringdon for the annual Clerkenwell Design Week. We went straight for Design Factory at the Farmiloe building – a huge exhibition sprawling over 4 floors showcasing ‘leading furniture, lighting and product design from around the world’, alongside some of the most exciting home-grown designer-makers. The temperature was warm, the ice-cream van parked, and the crowd mounting. We picked up a drink and weaved our way around the people and products to find a few gems: Concrete LCDA, French makers of interior concrete surfaces and products, and Terrance Woodgate showcased some beautiful marble pendants..

Built in 1868, The Farmiloe building was appointed Grade II listed in 1991. Up until 1999 it was used as office space for George Farmiloe & Sons, and in recent years has been a location for film, TV and events including Clerkwenwell Design Week. In 2013 Feilden Clegg Bradley studios were appointed to refurbish the site into offices giving this empty space permanent life once more. We’ll miss our yearly visit though…
