Ideal Home Show

HUB’s Office Manager visited the Ideal Home Show, more in a consumer capacity than professional. Having not visited for a few years, it seems to have grown considerably in size, this year embracing a food and drink festival, which proved a welcome respite to the stands selling drills and mops! The Good Homes magazine interior room sets were neat and well presented; the queues for the show homes were too long to navigate, although the Rotating Home, seen on Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces, was easy to spot from afar – consisting of four ‘rooms’, it rotates on its axis every 45 minutes to form whichever space is needed at the time. It is described as ‘literally revolutionary – it’s an exercise in rethinking the way we live, our homes and our space’.

A lot of time was spent in the furniture and interiors sections which showcased new products and ranges. Geberit introduced their range of AquaClean shower toilets along with new Bathroom Collections; BoConcept had a very comfortable and appealing new sofa range; and New Line Kitchens had a fun yet practical range of modcons on their stand including movement activated cupboard doors, thoughtfully designed cabinets and shelving along with tactile surfaces.

The show runs until 9th April at Olympia.
