Cadogan Hall
This landmark building close to Sloane Square is one of the main music concert venues in Chelsea and the home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Cadogan Estates Ltd.. While at Paul Davis & Partners, Simon undertook the architectural challenge to preserve the character of the building whilst accommodating the needs of a full concert orchestra. A great deal of care was invested in the building and to facilitate a wide range of performance types.
The project involved converting the former First church of Christ Scientist, a Listed Building, into an air-conditioned auditorium. Further refurbishments included management offices, a box office, licensed crush bar, foyer, and backstage facilities for performers. Cadogan Hall is now used regularly in the BBC’s Henry Wood Promenade each summer.
