HUB were asked to redevelop the ground floor and lower ground floor of a listed building on Holland Park. The brief included a four-bedroom house with generous reception rooms and extended lifestyle facilities; including a swim spa, cinema, gymnasium and ancillary wellness facilities. The integration of these features within a Grade-2 listed building required careful consideration and meticulous detailing.
HUB obtained planning permission to excavate the garden to a depth of 7.5 metres. Within this space we have located all of the leisure facilities. The garden is restored above, with walk over glazing and light wells giving natural light to the pool and gymnasium. A commitment to achieving the highest quality of design in the main living spaces has ensured that the original house is preserved with all the benefits of its period architecture, with the comfort and appeal of contemporary interiors.
