Kingswood Warren was formerly the research centre for the BBC’s technical development offices. HUB were asked to assist Octagon Developments with the design of a masterplan and gaining planning permission to develop the entire site. We achieved approval for the master plan of 22 new homes set in the landscaped grounds, following extensive public enquiry.
The proposals also included converting a historically complex, Grade II listed “Mansion building” in to eight luxury apartments. A combination of careful historic research and technical coordination led to the creation of a series of highly desirable and comfortable homes. Our remit included the construction of an underground car park as well as detail design of the apartment interiors, alongside the conservation of original architectural features.
The project won the “ LABC Best Change of Use of an Existing Building or Conversion Award in 2014”.
