Soak, Steam, Dream: Reinventing Bathing Culture

A great preview evening was spent at the Roca Gallery to mark the start of the London Design Festival and the opening of their exhibition Soak, Steam, Dream: Reinventing Bathing Culture curated by Jane Withers.

It explored the future of communal bathing. From hot springs to mud baths, Soak, Steam, Dream explores a new global bathing culture through the work of architects, designers and writers including Peter Zumthor, Shigeru Ban, H3T Architekti, Kengo Kuma and Something & Son.

This immersive exhibition traces the rich history of bathing and highlights international projects through photography, film, objects and archive material.

London-based design studio Kellenberger-White use natural materials such as clay, wood and charcoal to transform the Roca London Gallery into an animistic bathing grotto, making this a must-see show featuring on the Icon Design Trail.
