Woodside Avenue planning approval

Yesterday HUB received planning approval for minor amendments to a block of five apartments on Woodside Avenue. The scheme is currently under construction.

Kate spent a fantastic evening enjoying the fine weather and the views from the roof terrace bar at Houzz’s 2^nd Birthday celebrations – catching up with friends old and new.

@hub_architects_and_designers and @simon.watkins.3720 have been working on a proposal for new homes on this small former farmyard site in a semi rural setting. At the heart of this proposal is the preservation and re-use of a handsome stone barn. The character of the barn is saved by preserving the setting and retaining existing features such as the original feeding troughs in the yard. The proposed new housing adjacent to the barn has been laid out to create a farmyard sense of place and proposed building details and materials follow the vernacular details characteristic of the rural country. #ruralsetting #farmyard #barnarchitecture #barninspo #rurallife #countryliving #midlandsarchitect

Hub gained planning approval for this home in harrow, Hertfordshire. The new gable has been designed to be in keeping with the Arts and Crafts tradition and sympathetic to the style of the original house, while the internal reconfiguration provides a sustainable dwelling for a multi generational family. Hub has completed the conversion of the end bay of a 17th century Tythe barn near Broadway, Worcestershire. 2 planning and listed building applications were approved for the restoration and change of use from garden store to habitable annex. The barn has been gently restored with respect for the original fabric and the addition of some sensitive modern features. HUB have gained another Listed Building Consent, for a Grade11* listed house in the Royal Hospital Conservation Area, in Chelsea. These illustrations are taken from the original design by the architect Edward William Godwin. The building was constructed in 1878-80 for Frank Miles, a well-known society portrait painter, whose 2nd Floor studio remains largely intact, with a large double height window rising into the roof space.

The house is part of the so called ‘Tite Street Studios’ which are cited in the Conservation Area Statement as ‘probably the most important group of buildings in the area, second only to the Royal Hospital’. The building is significant and is protected as an Heritage asset as defined within the NPPF.
