Interior ID 10 year anniversary evening

On the 20th October, HUB Architects were delighted to be invited along to an evening in Notting Hill, celebrating the work of Interior ID over the past 10 years.

It was a crisp autumnal evening, however the atmosphere was warm and friendly with the air full of conversations on design & collaboration.

It was also a special moment for our Architectural Assistant, Ryan. Whilst practicing with MWAI, Ryan was an integral part of the design team that led the design & detailing of the collaborative project between MWAI & Interior ID, resulting in their Haute Couture Bespoke Kitchen Range. As well as being displayed at Decorex International 2016, it was formally unveiled at Interior ID’s 10 Year Anniversary party with many at the event taking time to mull over every detail and join.

The collaboration between the two firms illustrates the ability of both architect and interior craftsman to engage and produce a piece that is beautifully detailed and engaging.

We look forward to working alongside Interior ID in some of our beautiful residential projects in the near future. A special thanks must go to Bernd, Hannes & Thomas and all of the Interior ID team that made the night such a wonderful occasion.

Handmade at Kew Gardens

On a wet, autumnal afternoon in October, we sheltered from the rain at the lovely Handmade at Kew Gardens. In its second year there, the event showcased the work of over 200 contemporary designer-makers working across all disciplines. We chatted to a number of exhibitors and learned how they make their crafts – from different glazes on ceramic bowls, to inspiration taken from the Glasshouses at Kew for hand-painted jewellery.

Perhaps my favourite was the extraordinary work of Holy Smoke – a beautiful collection of soulful looking dogs made from layered scraps of materials and a neutral colour palette. As their website says ‘Imperfections illustrate the human hand through an emotive process in an attempt to represent the unique spirit, fragility and character of the animals in their diverse forms and circumstances’.
